Grand Ole Opry - Information
The Grand Ole Opry is a historic country music venue and radio show in Nashville, Tennessee, known as the 'home of American music.' The Opry first began as a live radio broadcast in 1925 and has since become a cornerstone of Nashville's country music scene, featuring performances by legendary artists such as Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline. The venue itself has gone through several iterations, but the current Grand Ole Opry House was built in 1974 and can seat up to 4,400 people. The Opry continues to broadcast live on radio and television, as well as host live performances for both established and up-and-coming country music stars.
Not only is it an opportunity to see some of the biggest names in country music perform, but it's also a chance to immerse oneself in the history and culture of Nashville's country music scene. The venue offers backstage tours that give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the Opry House and its storied history, as well as the opportunity to stand on the same stage where countless country music legends have performed. The Grand Ole Opry is also located in the Opryland complex, which includes hotels, restaurants, and shops.
